She died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1993, at the Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center. Ruth Anderson was born Jan. 28, 1901, in Clinton, Iowa, to August and Ida (Seberg) Anderson. She moved to Aneta, N.D., with her family as a young girl. They later moved to Cooperstown, where she was educated. She worked as a dental assistant while living in Jamestown. She married Gustav Thmpson on April 22, 1928, in Cooperstown. Afterward, they lived in various North Dakota communities until moving to Jamestown in 1966. He died in 1967. She belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Eleanor Thompson, Duane and Betty Thompson, Larry and Lucille Thompson, James and Carol Thompson, Dale and Hannah Thompson , and Barton and Myrna Thompson ; one daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Ray Klaudt ; one brother, Earl Anderson ; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter and three brothers. (The following information is inaccurate. She was born in Leland, Iowa, not Clinton, and she worked for the dentist, Dr. Rose, in Cooperstown, not Jamestown.)
