Description	:	Robert August MahlerRobert August Mahler, seventh child of Fritz and Louise Rathe Mahler, was born near Sterling, Nebr., March 12, 1899, and departed this life Jan. 11, 1946, having attained the age of 46 years, 9 months and 29 days.He was married to Miss Elsie Fritz of Adams March 23, 1921. He engaged in farming except about five years when he was employed by Johnson county. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran church west of Sterling. Read More	Robert August MahlerRobert August Mahler, seventh child of Fritz and Louise Rathe Mahler, was born near Sterling, Nebr., March 12, 1899, and departed this life Jan. 11, 1946, having attained the age of 46 years, 9 months and 29 days.He was married to Miss Elsie Fritz of Adams March 23, 1921. He engaged in farming except about five years when he was employed by Johnson county. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran church west of Sterling. In early manhood he united with the Methodist church and was for a number of years an official member, served as a steward and part of the time, church treasurer. He had been in failing health the past year with severe attacks recurring. The first was last July when he was very miserable. With another in September he was hospitalized in St. Elizabeth in Lincoln for four weeks. The last one was suffered just before Christmas when it became apparent that he was completely broken in nerve and frame.His father and mother, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; three brothers, William of Tecumseh, Herman and Eddie of Adams; three sisters, Mrs. Ekke Behrens of Adams, Marie Behrens and Mrs. Fred Waltemath of Beatrice. Funeral services were conducted from the Adams Methodist church Monday afternoon. Rev. P. D. Cox, pastor of the church had charge.Casket bearers were Fred Smidt, Ron Stanley, William Hoseck, Ronald Jeffry, Raymond Goosman and Wallice Beatty.Interment was in Highland cemetery at Adams.Beatrice Daily Sun, January 28, 1946
