Mr. Petree was born in Germanton, on Oct. 18, 1918 to the late Robert G. and Janie Johnson Petee. He is survived by his wife, Martha Frances Watts Petree of the home; three sons, David W. Petree of Liberty, North Carolina, Joseph L, Petree, of Jones, Oklahoma and Donald G. Petree of Archdale, North Carolina; one daughter Linda P. Carroll of Rocky Mount; ten grandchildren,, seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Shaffner of Winston-Salem, North Carolina He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sarah Burwell,, and his brother, Frank Petree. A grave side funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 04, 1998 at 2 P.M. at Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery in Germanton, North Carolina. Minister Jimmy Canup of Galax, Virginia will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at Burroughs Funeral Home in Walnut Cove, North Carolina
