Kimberly, 78 years of age, of Hebron, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege and Oxford, Nebraska), passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron. Robert was born January 27, 1939 at Franklin, Nebraska, the second of six children of Burnett and Genevieve (Barnes) Kimberly. Robert received his primary education from Holdrege Public Schools through the fifth grade, at which time he stayed home to take care of his ailing Mother. Robert made his home in Holdrege, until becoming part of the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services family in Oxford. He was raised in the Methodist faith, and enjoyed being in the company of others. Roberts favorite past-time was watching TV, and was an avid fan of sprint car racing, and NASCAR. In September of 2012, he began to make his home at the Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron, where he resided until his passing. Robert bonded with the nursing staff at Blue Valley, and they became his extended family. Survivors include: his brother, Larry Kimberly and his wife, Arleta of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Leroy Bill Rogers of Holdrege; sisters-in-law: Bonnie, Denise, and Kay Kimberly all of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents; Robert was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronnie, Melvin, and DeWayne Kimberly; and sister, Barbara Rogers. A private family visitation will be held. A memorial has been established in Roberts honor, and will be designated at a later date.
