He passed away October 17, 2005 in Holdrege, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 11 months and nine days. He was the youngest of three children in the family. Bob and Bonnie lived in Fairmont as Bob began working in... Read More	Robert Eugene Wettstead was born to Lysle E. and Vera M. DeBoer Wettstead on November 8, 1944, in Geneva. He passed away October 17, 2005 in Holdrege, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 11 months and nine days. He was the youngest of three children in the family. Bob was raised in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1963. On June 27, 1964, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Ann Fleharty of Fairmont, and to them three sons were born. Bob and Bonnie lived in Fairmont as Bob began working in the trucking business for Billy R. Jacobsen and Jacobsen Trucking. He spent the last 24 years with Speedway Transportation in Holdrege. Bob was an avid sports fan as well as an exceptional athlete. He spent many years playing, as well as coaching a variety of sports. He never missed a sporting event his three sons participated in. Bob was extremely proud of every single one of their accomplishments on and off the field of competition. His two grandchildren were great sources of joy to him. His hobbies were golfing and following all Nebraska sports. He was a devoted family man and his family meant everything to him. Not only his immediate family, but extended family as well. He faithfully attended many of his nieces and nephews activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lysle and Vera; nephew Kirby Fleharty and niece Amy Wettstead. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Anne Wettstead of Hickman, sons Barry and Brock Wettstead of Lincoln; grandchildren, Brianne and Trey of Hickman, brother, Bill Wettstead and wife, Beverly of Crete; sister, Geraldine Reed and husband Gene of Fairmont, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. from the Fairmont Community Church with Dr. Rev. Raponzil Drake officiating. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied the Community Church Choir, who sang "I was There to Hear Your Borning Cry" and "He will Carry You Through," and special taped selection was "Wind Beneath My Wings." Casket bearers were Brent Reed, Brad Wettstead, Shane Fleharty, Greg Eifert, Mike Eifert and Jason Rakes. Interment was in the Fairmont Public Cemetery.
