As a Graduate of VPI school of Chemical Engineering, (VA TECH) he worked for Jefferson Mills, Pulaski Virginia then he & his family moved to Michigan where he worked for Dow Chemical Co. In 1957 He transferred to Virginia and worked for Dow until retirement. An incredible mind, he taught his children empirical thinking and instilled in them an avid curiosity about their world and the people in it. He so wanted his 15 year sobriety badge... He so wanted his 15 year sobriety badge on his 75th birthday, that he willed himself to live so he could earn it, and approximately 3 hours after midnight of the 18th. the day after his birthday, he died. . .. Our dinner conversations were fueled with science and fantasy, is there more dimensions than 3? My father thought so and stated that there may be many more and the only way for efficient space travel, is to go through other dimensions or even an area bent by light sound or matter. He taught us that the dinner table was made of atoms and if we were small enough it would look like outer space and we could fly through the particles as if they were planets or stars. He taught us to question, investigate and to forever stay curious, He taught us to revere knowledge, seek knowledge and to use it in our lives. He had that unique mixture of intellect, vulnerability and spirituality that forever battled within him. He was a fragile man with a superior intellect which he never could reconcile. Dad you are missed and I know you are continuing to learn.
