The services were conducted by Rev. Father Vermullen and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Robert Porter was born near Albion, Nebraska, on January 9, 1895, the seventh son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Porter, and passed away suddenly February 27th at the St. Mary hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, of complications following a major operation. He was united in marriage to Miss Helen Brouwers of Cedar Rapids on April 22, 1919, and they made their home on a farm near Primrose for a number of years. At the time of his death he resided on a farm near Chambers. He is survived by his wife, four brothers, Amos of Troutdale, Oregon; Ernest of Salem, Oregon, Donald of Albion and William of Spalding; and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Essy of Tamarack, Idaho, and Mrs. Katherine Reynoldson, of Albion. He was preceded in death by his father in 1926, his mother in 1931, one brother who died in infancy, and a brother, Fred, in 1932. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Reynoldson and son Minor of Albion Donald Porter of Albion; William Porter of Spalding, Mrs. Wayne VandeBeek of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. John Bartholomew of David City, Mr. and Mrs. George Brouwers and Mrs. Henry Schafer of Primrose; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brouwers of Albion, William Manasil and father of Burwell, Emil Raes and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grage of Chambers.
