(Image) Published obituary Robert L "Bob" Johnson, 80, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital, Gardner, Kansas. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, January 4, 2003, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kansas. Burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, Kansas. Visitation will be 10 am until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital. Mr Johnson was born November 29, 1922 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On March 4, 1948 he married Doris W Hendron Johnson in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr Johnson moved to Gardner on November 1, 1999 from the Shawnee Mission area where he had lived since 1951. He worked as a PBX Technician out of the Kansas City, Missouri office for Southwestern Bell then transferred to AT&T, for thirty-six years retiring in 1984. He was a member of Pioneers Local with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Mr Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Henry William and Daisy Elisabeth Carkhuff Johnson; brothers, Henry William Johnson Jr; sisters, Helen and Hazel; and half-brothers, Gerald Johnson and William Henry Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Doris Johnson of the home; daughter, Donna Lynn Mulford of Denver, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katy, Lee and Robert Mulford.
