Kent of Columbus, died this morning at a veterans hospital in Salt Lake City. Burial will be made here, and funeral arrangements will be announced soon. Mr. Kent was a veteran of World War I. KENT--Final Rites For Robert L. Kent Funeral services for Robert L. Kent, 52, who died at 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a three years illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure church with Fr. Albert Limacher officiating. The body will arrive in Columbus at 5:41 p.m. Sunday and will lie in state at the Gass Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Relatives and friends will pray the rosary at 8 p.m. Monday at the Gass chapel. Mr. Kent was born Dec. 16, 1893, at Norfolk, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Kent. When 13 years of age, he moved with his parents to Madison where they resided two years and then came to Columbus. He attended Columbus high school and the Omaha Art Institute. He was a veteran of World War I, having served from Sept. 17, 1917, to June 5, 1919, with the 355th infantry company K, in Germany and France. Upon his discharge, he became an interior decorator and painter. He lived in Chicago, Omaha and Seattle, Wash., and from there went to Alaska. He became ill in Alaska and was taken to Ogden, Utah, for medical care. He was later taken to the Veterans hospital at Salt Lake City. Mr. Kent was a member of St. Bonaventure church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen S., and a sister, JoAnn. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Kent of Columbus, and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys K. Wikstrom, Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Elsie Kiernan, Dunsmuir, Calif., Mrs. Celia Madison, Omaha, and Mrs. Gertrudde Pilcher, Yreke, Calif. The Daily Telegram, June 2, 1948 KENT--Kent Services - Funeral services for Robert L. Kent, 52, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure church with Fr. Albert Limacher officiating. Burial was in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Pallbearers wer [sic] Ed Kavanaugh, Frank Dietz, Oliver Smith, Paul McTaggert, Freb [sic] Gerber, and Al Frischholz. The graveside services were conducted by Herman Karlin, commander of Hartman Post No. 84, American Legion, assisted by Francis Dischner. The firing squad, consisting of members of the V.F.W. Post No. 3704, was in charge of Keith Bryan, and taps was played by the Legion buglers, Dick Grant and Dick Brodfuehrer. Out-of-town rela- [sic] and friends attending the services included Mrs. Elsie Kiernan, Dunsmuir, Calif., and her daughter, Miss Frances, of Woodland, Calif.; Mrs. Gladys Wikstrom, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Celia Madison and Mrs. Robert West of Omaha; Samuel Kent, Mrs. Agnes Kost, Mrs. Mary Weatherholt, and Mrs. Elmer Volk, all of Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Alt, Lincoln; Mrs. Katherine J. Schramm, Pierce; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Eikstrom and Mrs. Olga Ellis, Ponca; Mrs. Delia Lauver and son, Donald, and Mrs. Maggie _____ of Battle Creek.
