Read More	Source Estherville Daily News June 11, 1973 Dickinson County Sheriffs Car Collision While Officers Answering Call Pickup Driven by Sierck Two Killed in Dickinson Crash A Dickinson County sheriff's deputy and a Spencer man were killed in a two-car crash at a gravel road and county blacktop intersection about two miles south of Superior early Friday evening and a third man was in serious condition at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Dead are George Williamson, first deputy under Dickinson County Sheriff Robert M. Baker, and Robert Sierck of Spencer. Deputy Sheriff Michael Harleman, who was riding with Deputy Williamson, remains in serious condition in Holy Family Hospital but listed as improving. His injuries include a compound fracture of the right femur and head injuries. Authorities said a Dickinson County sheriff's car driven by Williamson, 39, was answering a call on a personal injury accident at Superior when the car he was driving collided with a pickup truck driven by Sierck, 46. Williamson was killed outright and Sierck died later at Holy Family Hospital, authorities Authorities said the sheriff's car was traveling north on the gravel road toward Superior with lights and siren going, and the Sierck vehicle was traveling west on the blacktop. Highway Patrol Troopers Roy Vogel and Richard Fellln, who covered the accident, said there had been a call at 7:15 p.m. for assistance at a pedestrian mishap in Superior. Williamson apparently took the call since no other cars were in the vicinity. Sheriff Raker said his deputies were in the Terril area and proceeded north to Superior. The fatal accident is believed to have occurred a few minutes after 7:15 p.m. The troopers said the Superior accident involved a four-year-old youngster, Kent Billings, who ran out in front of a car driven by Derwood Kern of Estherville. The youth was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, treated for abrasions of the back and shoulder and released. Services for Mr. Sierck were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Warner Chapel in Spencer with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery at Sioux Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Dolores; three children, two sons and one daughter, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Otto Sierck of Spencer; three brothers, Marvin Sierck of Sioux Falls; Gordon L. Sierck of Seattle, Wash.; and another of Spencer; and three sisters. Mr. Sierck was born in Okoboji, moved to Alta with his parents at an early age and received his education in Alta schools. After serving in the Navy, he came to Spencer in 1948 where he was employed for 12 years at a Spencer grocery store and the last eight years as a clerk at the Spencer Post Office.
