Description	:	Robert Lyle "Bob" Enockson, 84, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Banner Merrill Gardens in Mesa, Ariz. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, 3939 Cheyenne Blvd., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Alan Wicks officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Union Creek Cemetery, Akron, Iowa, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Albert E. Hoschler Post 196. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. The son of Lenus Arthur and Evelyn (Johnson) Enockson, was born April 21, 1919, in Meriden, Iowa. The family moved to Akron, Iowa, in 1934, where he graduated from high school in 1936. He married Miriam Ericson on Oct. 30, 1938, at Union Creek Lutheran Church near Akron. The couple recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. After moving to Sioux City, he was called into the service during World War II and was wounded while serving in the Philippines. He worked for Sioux Tools for 39 years and finished his years as foreman of the packing department. He retired in 1981, after which he enjoyed wintering in Arizona. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux City, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54, American Legion Monahan Post 64, and served as the golf chairman at Mondak Park for 10 years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed bowling, golf, horseshoes and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. Survivors include his wife, Miriam; two sons and their wives, Richard and Judy of Correctionville, Iowa, and Ronald and Marcia of Burnsville, Minn.; three grandchildren, Blake Enockson of Hermantown, Minn., Julie Sheck of Foreston, Minn., and Kim Meggers of Grimes, Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Bill and Mary Enockson of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Arch Morehead of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Florence Enockson of Atlantic, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Waterman of Akron, Iowa.
