He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Mr. Herre was born March 22, 1870, at Hackettstown, N.J., and moved to Fremont with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Herre, in 1877 and resided here since except during the years 1918-32. He lived at Superior in 1918-22 and at Norfolk in 1922-32. He operated jewelry stores at Fremont, Superior and Norfolk and was active in Fremont city government during the earlier years of his life. He was mayor in 1914 and was councilman from the Fourth Ward for about 12 years. He was married in August, 1896 to Lena Rasmussen who died in January, 1949. He was a member of Masonic Lodge NO. 15 AF and AM at Fremont for 64 years.
