Read More	R.M. Keigley, one of Madrid's leading citizens and a resident of Boone County all his life passed away at his home in Madrid on Wednesday afternoon, October 7, at five o'clock. A brief announcement of his death appeared in The Democrat last week. Death was caused from kidney and stomach trouble and the deceased had been in poor health for some time. For some time past he had been in Colorado for his health but returned home shortly before he died. Robert Milton Keigley was born in Douglas township four miles north of Madrid on July 11, 1861, being forty two years of age at the time of his death. Some fifteen years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Millie Sellen in Kansas. To them no children were born. For a number of years he has been engaged in the mercantile business in Madrid with his brother. His aged father W.J. Keigley, still survives him and resides in Madrid. Six brothers and one sister survive as follows: J.W. of this city, a member of the board of supervisors; C.C. of Crowley, Louisiana; T.H. of Colfax Township; Lionel F., who was engaged in business with him in Madrid; Wilbur J. of Madrid and Mrs. Andrew Sutherland of Madrid. All were present at the funeral except C.C. of Louisiana who was unable to be present on account of illness in his family. The funeral took place Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the M.E. church, Rev. Golden officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Madrid cemetery.
