Mr. Ruge died unexpectedly at his home Thursday. He was born November 8, 1926 in the Worms - Palmer [NE] area, the son of Henry and Anna (Husman) Ruge. He came to Central City in 1937. He had attended schools at both Chapman [NE] and Central City. He served in the Navy during World War II participating in the liberation of the Philippines in the Asiatic - Pacific theater. He married the former Wilma Butts at Columbus [NE] on April 30, 1948. They lived in Central City where he was employed in carpentry and contracting. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a member of the executive committee and past commander of the Lone Tree American Legion Post and active in Boy Scouts and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is survived by his widow Wilma; one daughter, Rowena of Central City; four sons, Darrell of Grand Island [NE], Darwin with the Marines, Camp Pendleton CA, and Dwain and Dana, both at home, one brother, Raymond of Minden [NE]; one sister, Mrs Ruth Brandenburg of Central City and one granddaughter.
