Description	:	Robert Sabers, 87, formerly of Salem, SD passed away on June 18, 2012 in Summerfield, FL. His funeral mass will begin on Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salem. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Robert was born in Salem, SD, to John and Agnes Raue Sabers, June 17, 1925. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Robert was born in Salem, SD, to John and Agnes Raue Sabers, June 17, 1925. He was the youngest of 10 children. He was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salem. He attended St. Mary's School elementary through high school. He had polio December, 1941. After high school graduation he joined his father in Sabers' Oil Company and became sole owner in 1952. He married Carol Rae Barnes on September 10, 1956. They had five children. He served as treasurer of the South Dakota Independent Oil Men's Association for many years and was Past President of the Sioux Falls Oil Men's Association. He served on the bank board of McCook County National Bank from 1962 to the time the bank was sold to First Dakota National Bank of Yankton in 1992. He was Chairman, President, and CEO when the bank was sold. After retiring, he and Carol spent most of their time in Summerfield, FL. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rae; daughter Debra, Omaha, NE; John and Mark, Salem, SD; Paul, Sioux Falls, SD; William, Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Laverne Carey; and many nieces and nephews
