He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Hodgen; his daughters, Mary Brown of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Joanne Crosta of Davis, California; and grandchildren Scott and Chad Brown, and Peter and Morgan Crosta. Read More	Robert Sheridan Hodgen January 4, 1923 ~ October 13, 2006 Monterey – Long-time resident Robert Sheridan Hodgen, 83, passed away peacefully at the Westland House in Monterey on Friday, October 13, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice Hodgen; his daughters, Mary Brown of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Joanne Crosta of Davis, California; and grandchildren Scott and Chad Brown, and Peter and Morgan Crosta. He is also survived by his quintuplet great-grandchildren, their mother Amber Brown, his sister Mary Jane Wilkinson, sons-in-law Ken Brown and Steve Crosta, and many nieces and nephews. Bob, as he was known to his friends and family, was born in Morro Bay, California, to Jacob and Almira Hodgen who moved to Pacific Grove with their six children in 1926. After graduating from Pacific Grove High School in 1941, he began construction jobs that included driving trucks for war-time projects in Utah. It was there that he met Janice, and married her on August 6, 1944, one month after enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was assigned to the European theater and served as co-pilot on the B-17 bomber known as "Heavens Above," earning military honors. At the war's end, Bob became a heavy equipment mechanic for Pebble Beach Company, where he was employed for 41 years. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who built his own home, could fix anything, and, especially loved dancing with his wife. Cremation has occurred and a celebration of his life is being planned. Remembrances may be made to the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
