Description	:	Robert was born in 1870 on a farm near Golnow and Stettin, Prussia called Crievitz Village. He came to America with his parents in 1879 on the good ship Westphalia. They sailed from Hamburg, Germany and landed at Castle Garden, New York. They went from there to Iron Ridge, Dodge, Wisconsin where they lived for about a year before moving to Watertown, South Dakota. From Watertown they moved to Crandon, Spink, South Dakota where they farmed. Robert married Frieda Zumhofe in 1896 and they lived on a farm in Garfield Township, Spink, South Dakota. ... Robert contracted typhoid fever and died four weeks later at age 29 years. ************************************* Obituary of Robert Schwichtenberg Robert Schwichtenberg, of Tulare, died at his home on Saturday, September 24th, of typhoid fever, aged 28 years. Funeral services were held Monday, September 26th. He had been sick about four weeks when the end came, had never been very strong, and was not able to throw off the disease. He had been married a little over two years and leaves a wife and child. He also leaves a mother, four brothers and two sisters, This is a sad blow to all his friends. He was always loving and loveable and made and held as friends all who knew him. Mrs. Schwichtenberg asks us to extend the thanks of the family to neighbors and friends for all their kindness during the sickness of Mr. Schwichtenberg.
