Description	:	Robert William Luecke was born on October 3, 1960 to John and Patricia (O'Rielly) Luecke in Pierre, South Dakota. He attended Goodwater Country School before transferring to Buchanan Elementary School in Pierre. The family moved to Clear Lake in 1971, where Rob attended and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1978. Rob continued his education at Jamestown College, where he played football for four years and graduated in 1982 with a degree in Elementary Education. Read More	Robert William Luecke was born on October 3, 1960 to John and Patricia (O'Rielly) Luecke in Pierre, South Dakota. He attended Goodwater Country School before transferring to Buchanan Elementary School in Pierre. The family moved to Clear Lake in 1971, where Rob attended and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1978. Rob continued his education at Jamestown College, where he played football for four years and graduated in 1982 with a degree in Elementary Education. On August 21, 1982, he united in marriage with Rebecca Lundby in Fertile, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Jamestown, where Rob worked as a youth director at Atonement Lutheran Church. In the fall of 1984, they moved to Groton and Rob began teaching 1st Grade. During his summer months, Rob worked with his brother at KayJay Ag Services, and NDSU doing agriculture research. Over the years, Rob coached Football, Junior High Girls Basketball, Gymnastics, Track and Cross Country. He led the Girls Cross Country team to the State Championship in 2004 and had been a part of many Northeast Conference Championships. Rob assisted countless times as a Football Official and Track Starter. Rob passed away December 23, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. People loved being around Rob. He will forever be remembered for his fun-loving nature, his ability to encourage others, his dedication to teaching and his work ethic. He loved children and touched many lives throughout his teaching and coaching career. Rob was a member of the Groton Christian Missionary & Alliance Church of Groton, where he was active as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Rob was also a member of the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. He had previously served on the Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years, and had been involved with Kiwanis, Jaycees and the Groton Area Chamber of Commerce. Rob was named in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Rob enjoyed following his children's activities, hunting, and all sports. He especially enjoyed football and playing in his fantasy football league. Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Becky and his children; Chelsey, Austin and Hannah, all of Groton, his parents; John and Patricia Luecke of Clear Lake, his brother; Lenny (Kathy Jo) Luecke of Fargo, ND, and two sisters; Deb (Jon) Lessman of Clear Lake and Pam Luecke of Clear Lake. Rob is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services for Robert "Rob" Luecke, 47, of Groton will be Friday at the Groton High School Arena. Rev. Bill Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com Honorary Casketbearers will be Groton Elementary and High School Staff. Casketbearers will be Brad Morehouse, Lance Hawkins, Joel Guthmiller, Scott Thorson, Monte Mason, Tom Cutler, Larry Remmington and Dale Grenz.
