Description	:	Robert was born in a sod house on his parents', Johann and Julia Weinelt Jahn, homestead in Elk Creek Township of Custer County. This community was known as Black Hill Creek and was settled by people from Austria. His siblings were: Annie Trampe, Bertha Scully, Otelliea Jones, and William. Robert and Amelia Albrecht Yohn built a new home and barn just north of the Jahn homestead. The home burned shortly after it was constructed but the barn was just recently torn down.
