Read More	Roberta Conrow (November 22, 1923 - October 28, 2009) Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home ROBERTA CONROW died October 28, 2009 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, KS at the age of 85. She was born on November 22, 1923 in Riley County Kansas, the daughter of George and Bernice (Elkins) Randle. Roberta attended Wakefield High School and graduated from Normal Training at Clay Center High School. She taught school for 2 years in a one-room schoolhouse in Riley County and her third year at Acme School. On June 30, 1944 she married Laurence Conrow after he completed his U.S. Army flight school training. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2009. Roberta was a long time member of the Sunshine Club, and a 50 year member of the Union Homemakers H.E.U.. She also belonged to the Eastern Star, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Wakefield Library Club and was a regular volunteer at the Wakefield Museum. On Friday nights she and Laurence could be found playing cards with their friends at the Wakefield Community Center. She and Laurence enjoyed traveling extensively during their retirement years. Roberta's surviving family includes her husband Laurence Conrow, her daughters Margaret Davidson (Larry) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Carolyn Myers (Ken) of St. George, Kansas; and one son, Jeff Conrow (Leslie) of Topeka, Kansas. Roberta's grandchildren include, Chad Myers (Kaylee), Kelli Bramhall, Christopher Conrow, and Sarah Conrow. Roberta also has 5 great-grandchildren, Skylar Myers, Macie and Maddie Myers, Ashley and Amber Bramhall. Roberta's sister, Joyce Braden also lives in Wakefield, Kansas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Diana Stewart. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30 from 5-8 pm at the Wakefield Funeral Home.
