Roche and a family member Siro Gobert arrived aboard the Tropic to the USA on December 13, 1858. Angeline and John were the children of Roche and his first wife Mary Ahkahtah. And as the 1880 U.S. Federal Census shows, by then Roche was a farmer. He was also a very loving father, according to Roche's son Edward Rock Gobert, as Edward would tell his (Edward's) grandson Walter Lamar. On 20 November 1888, Roche passed away. And on 21 November 1888 Roche was buried in the Saint Peters Mission Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
