Roger was born on Dec. 23, 1925, at Watertown to Eli and Mabel (Borns) Meseberg. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown. He attended both grade school and high school in Watertown. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the U.S. Army Company F, the 130th infantry Regiment Division in the Philippines. On July 10, 1949, he married Phyllis Hallauer in St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown. The couple lived most of their married life in Watertown. He worked for Petroleum Carriers, Terrace Park Dairy, and the Municipal Golf Course until 1988 when he retired. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a past member of the Golden "K" Club, and a life time member of VFW Post 750. He enjoyed working in the yard, playing cards, and going on tours. He especially enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara and her husband, Walter Rennerfeldt. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Watertown; one daughter, Pat and her husband, Rick Herr, of Watertown; three sisters, Twyla Mae and her husband, Rich Adney, of Pierre, Donna Jean Glodrey of Jamestown, N.D., and Joy and her husband, Willard Bretsch, of Brookings; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
