Description	:	Twyla Mae Adney, 95, of Pierre, died April 28, 2018, at Kelly’s Retirement Center, Pierre. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, from 5-7:00pm, at Isburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, at 10:00am, at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. Twyla Mae was born August 21, 1922, to Eli and Mabel (Borns) Meseberg in South Shore, SD. When Twyla was just a child, the family moved to Rauville, SD. Later the family moved to a family farm near Lake Kampeska. Twyla finished her schooling in Watertown. While attending school and after graduating, Twyla worked for the J.C. Penney Company in Watertown. In 1947, Twyla married Richard Adney. They made their home in Watertown until 1949 when they moved to Pierre so Richard could work on the Oahe Dam Project. For many years, Twyla baby sat for many families. When her own children were in high school, she worked as a cashier and clerk at the Fabric Shop, Corner Drug, Sandvig’s, and the Total Look in the Pierre Mall. In her spare time, Twyla established a working hobby doing ceramics. She loved to paint, and was very good at it until her eyesight began to fail. After retirement, Twyla loved to garden and do yard work. She and Richard took a lot of pride in making and selling handcrafted wood items. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Minnesota Twins and All Star Wrestling with her husband. Twyla is survived by her children: 2 daughter's,2 son's,1 son-in-law,2 daughter-in-laws,4 granddaughters, her sister, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law,and 4 special great grandchildren.(living family members names have been omitted) Twyla was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2017, her brother, Roger Meseberg, a sister, Donna Jean Glodrey, a sister-in-law, Marylin Young and brothers-in-law, Carl Anderson, Raymond Glodrey, and Willard Bretsch.
