He was born September 11, 1939 in Okolona, Ohio to the late Alfred and Theresa (Behrens) Bruns. On November 24, 1968 he married Lillian Carnahan in Defiance, Ohio who survives. Ron was an employee of the telephone company, United Telephone, Ohio Bell then AT&T retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Army Reserves for several years. Bruns, 78, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away December 22, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. He was born September 11, 1939 in Okolona, Ohio to the late Alfred and Theresa (Behrens) Bruns. On November 24, 1968 he married Lillian Carnahan in Defiance, Ohio who survives. Ron was an employee of the telephone company, United Telephone, Ohio Bell then AT&T retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Army Reserves for several years. Ron loved fishing, camping, tractor pulls, and Nascar. He loved helping friends with draft horses and attending the Henry County Fair. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lillian, and children, Laurie (Cal) Dawson of Saline, Michigan, Kathy Hoover, and Patty (Randy) Hill all of Napoleon, grandchildren, Alyssa Dawson, Corinna Dawson, Misty Hoover, Amber Yarborogh, Logan Hoover, Nick Hill, and Andrew Hill, 9 great grandchildren, sisters, Mildred Bruns of Napoleon, RuthAnn Fry of Wauseon, and brother, Alfred (Sue) Bruns of Defiance, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter Becky Miller and sisters, Mary Lou Tabor and Delores Boyer. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon. Suggested memorial contributions to the Henry County Fair, Henry County Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
