Read More	The following has been contributed by Find a Grave member, Leslie Spohn: Ronald Eugene Tatro was born June 9, 1941 to Duane Tatro and Hazel (Hall) Tatro. Ronald attended grade school at District #3 and graduated from Geneva High School in 1959. He served in the National Guard where he made many close, life-long friendships. Ron was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge, Sesostris Temple in Lincoln, the Hillbilly Clan, the Rural Fire Board, belonged to the Geneva Lions Club and was an active member in the International Order of Odd Fellows. Ronald was married to Alice Koehler December 29, 1964. The couple has been blessed with four wonderful daughters; Leann Louise Dockins, Laura Renee Gestring, Allison Jane Jensen and Andrea Evelyn Perrin. His grandchildren; Trent and Maclain Gestring, Jordan and Sydney Dockins, Grant and Cole Jensen and Ryan and Regan Perrin were his pride and joy. Ron loved farming and feeding livestock, especially cattle. Ron was a 4-H leader for the Mutton Punchers Club in Strang for over 20 years. He enjoyed helping his girls with sheep and cattle in 4-H, probably even more than the girls. Then he stepped outside his farmer's box into the auctioneering arena, which became on of his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed his garden and helped can the produce. He raised turnips and delivered them to those who liked them (a tradition started by his dad.) Ron never knew a stranger and was always lending a helping hand (with lots of advice.) He took such pride in the farm and was meticulous about his machinery. This was evident at the August 4th Farm sale. A special piece of his heart was devoted to his grandchildren. Papa loved visiting all of this grandchildren and would travel any length to see a football game, recital or just to see them smile. Papa's farm is known among all of the grandchildren for his famous tractor and 3 wheeler rides. It didn't matter how cold or hot it was outside they could always convince him to take them for a ride. He never liked being along and we joked with the hired help that they really were his "paid companions." Turns out they were some of his dearest friends. Ron's need to be a social butterfly was satisfied with many trips and activities with Alice. Alice often enlisted his assistance for many Ambassador Club activities. Often he complained about it, but in the end he loved it. Ron never was one to sit still for long and was much happier doing than not. If there was a project on the table, you might as well get it done because he wouldn't let it rest until it was! Ron kept his good sense of humor through open heart surgery and Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was known for playing practical jokes and giving his family and friends a hard time. Early on in Ron's chemo treatment he showed up at the bank and the COOP wearing a long, blond wig. They actually thought he was going to rob the bank until they found Ron was under the wig. You can only imagine the laughs. As a result of his chemotherapy treatment, Ron developed Bleomyacin toxicity. His family and friends were witnesses to his strength and determination to beat the odds. Unfortunately between his will and the efforts of all the doctors, in the end, his lung damage was irreversible. Ron made a special impact with everyone who came in contact with him. Ronald is survived by his wife, Alice, daughters and son-in-laws; Leann and Paul Dockins Laura and Bob Gestring, Seth and Allison Jensen, Andrea and Matt Perrin; eight grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and George Cantrell; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Tatro, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Sue Koehler; and brother-in-law Lynn Koehler; and nephews, nieces, family and friends. Funeral services were held on October 4, with the Rev. Detlef Schwartz officiating. Organist was Carolyn Lees and pianist was Bill Turek. They accompanied the congregation in the singing of "We Gather Together," "Here I am, Lord," and "Eidelwise." Ballpearers for the service were Paul dockins, Bob Gestring, Seth Jensen, Matt Perrin, George Cantrell and Jason Tatro. Honorary pallbearers included all of Ron's friends. Interment was held in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal October 8th, 2008 page 5.
