Description	:	Ronald Joseph Kester, 75, Prescott was born Nov. 18, 1918, on a farm in Adams County near Mt Etna. He died April 2. 1994, at Greater Community Hospital, Creston. He attended country schools and Nodaway High School. On April 2, 1941, Mr. Kester married Wilma S. King at Maryville, Mo. Ronald and Wilma celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1991. He entered the Army Oct. 3. 1942. and received his basic training in Texas and North Carolina and served 31 months in the 219th General Hospital, Oahu, Hawaii as a medical technician. He died April 2. 1994, at Greater Community Hospital, Creston. He attended country schools and Nodaway High School. On April 2, 1941, Mr. Kester married Wilma S. King at Maryville, Mo. Ronald and Wilma celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1991. He entered the Army Oct. 3. 1942. and received his basic training in Texas and North Carolina and served 31 months in the 219th General Hospital, Oahu, Hawaii as a medical technician. He was discharged Nov. 1, 1945, as Technician 3rd grade. Mr. Kester began farming the next spring. He drove a Prescott school bus 14 years and worked as a custodian for the Prescott schools for 12 years, retiring Nov. 1, 1980, after 26 years with the school. He and his wife traveled and had visited 30 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, Germany, and Holland. His hobbies included reading, fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents: his wife in February 1993; a sister Violet and a brother Glen, both in infancy. Mr. Kester is survived by his daughters Mary (husband Darrell) Riley of Bennington. Neb., and Norma Morrow of Manchester, Tenn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers Dean (wife Leona) Kester of Coming, and Ralph (wife Neta) Kester of Bridgewater; and a sister Fern (husband Harold "Jack") Rodman of Omaha, Neb. Services were held April 5 at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home, Corning,* with the Rev. Jeanne Groom officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Guss with military rites by Ourcq Post No. 117 American Legion. Corning. Casket bearers were Larry, Tom, and Ralph Kester Jr., Robert W. Morrow, Michael D. Rlley, Rick Rodman. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Coen-Beaty Funeral Home, Corning, was in charge of arrangements.
