Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lyda Henley Jackson, and two sons, George and Karl; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George K. Jackson; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Teegardin, Eureka; Mrs. Edna Knott, Fredonia, Kansas; Mrs. Nora Newman, San Gabriel, Cal.; Mrs. Jennie McCaslin, Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Alice McGinnis, Eureka; two brothers, Elwin and John Jackson of Eureka. "Friends Pay Final Tribute to Memory of Eureka Aviator" R.G. Jackson was buried Tuesday afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery with honors befiting a peace time flying ace, famous in aeronautical circles throughout the middle western states. Mr. Jackson came to his death last Friday evening east of Eureka when his Swallow plane crashed to earth from a low altitude, killing him instantly. Funeral service was held from the Christ Luthersn Church in Eureka, the Rev. C.N. Salhart officiating. Beside the immediate family and a large circle of friends of the deceased flyer, many Wichitians, representatives of airplane factories, were in attendance. They arrived at the Eureka airport in airplanes shortly before the services and were brought to town by an escort of automobiles. The Wichita friends and the airplane factories they represented were: Loyce Connell, Max Walton, M.D. Kirkpatrick, L.H. McPherson, M.N. Meyenberg, Miss Kathleen Kelly, Don Phillips and George Bassett of the Swalllow Company; Walter Anderson and R. Lacey of the Swift Company; Lloyd Stearman and Miss Mary McCabe of the Stearman Company; Stenley Stanton and C.E. Warmbrot of the Cessna Company; E.B. Christopher and Jack Lanter of the Travel Air Company. The pallbearers were John Twibell, Norris Twlbell, Richard Dobbs, Ed Heiddeston, Leonard St. Clair, and Walter Langton, local flyers and close friends of Mr. Jackson. During the service at the cemetery a Swallow plane piloteod by M.D. Kirkpatrick, and swooping low, scattered flowers over the grave, a final tribute of love and affection from Wichita aviators. Mr. Jackson was a pioneer in aeronautics, having begun his flying in 1921. Of late years he was much in demand for flying being widely known throughout the central states. Up until his untimely death, he had flown over 3,500 hours or what would be equal to 435 days of eight hours each. He was very much interested in making Eureka a place for teaching flyers and a manufacturing place for planes. Roscoe was the air minded man of this community. He was thought to be visionary and wasting his time years ago, but now we realize he saw what other did not realize, he saw what others did not or could not see. To him is the credit for the advanacement of aeronauties in this section of the state. His death is not only a great shock to the family, but in a large way the community has lost one who will be remindered as the years pass by and appreciated all the more as time goes on. Ross was regarded as a most trustworthy pilot. There are thousands who will reminber R.G. as the pilot who took them on their first air ride. He had a personality that made him popular among his many acquaintances, He was wholesone and pleasing to visit and a most interesting conversationalist. Roscoe was a favorite among the boys when he attended school and Sunday School in Eureka. As a young business man, he was most promising. He had several autobile agencies and a garage.
