Mrs. Jackson was 85 years old, The Paulson family came to Greenwood in a covered wagon in 1868 undergoing the trials and hardships of this then rough pioneer county. She is survived by seven children; Mrs. D.H. Teagardin, Mrs. E.J. Knotts, Mrs. S.A. McGinnis and John Jackson all of Eureka; Mrs. Vern McCaslin of Wichita; Mrs. George Newman of San Gabriel, California and Elwin of Augusta. Mary Ann had two brothers Arne and Paul, one sister Eliza Paulson (Ole Erickson). Funeral service will be held from Baird Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 20, conducted by Rev. Arthur Angersback, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Eureka Herald 19 January 1950 page 1 Mrs. George K. Jackson, nee Mary Ann, the daughter of Ole and Ossa Paulson, was born October 14, 1865 at Dodgeville, Wisconsin. She passed away Wednesday January 18, 1950 at the Basham Hospital following several weeks illness. Funeral service was held at 2:30 Friday, January 20 at Baird Funeral Home with the Reverand A.L. Angershach of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. She came to Kansas in a covered wagon with her parents in 1868 and settled on a farm in the Ivapah district. On January 31, 1983, she was married to George K. Jackson at Eureka and then went to live at their homestead northwest of Reece. They moved to Eureka in November 1904 where Mrs. Jackson spent the remainder of her life. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson had nine children, two of which, William and Roscoe preceded Mrs. Jackson in death. The seven surviving children are; Mrs. Anna Teegardin, Mrs. Edna Knotts, Mrs. Alice McGinnis and John Jackson all of Eureka; Mrs. Nora Newman of San Gabrial, California; Mrs. Jennie McCaslin of Wichita and Elwin Jackson of Augusta. She leaves to mourn her death eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Eliza Erickson of Reece. Mr. Jackson passed away in November 1935. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka, and took an active past in the activities of the church, being a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending. Mra. Jackson was a great lover of flowers and spent many hours in her garden. In the past few years she had had the misfortune of fracturing both of her hips and spend many months in the hospital, however always with patience and an expression of good cheer for everyone who attended her and visited her. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the service were; Mrs. Eliza Erickson; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Evenson of Reece; Mrs. Louise Cannon of ElDorado; Mrs. Agnes Depee, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Depree, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCaslin, Mr. and Mrs. V.J. McCaslin, Helen and Bill, also Mr. J. McCaslin all of Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Hurt Jr. and Mrs. Edmund Shupe of Emproai; Mrs. Ralph Fleagle of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Newman and Carolyn of Virgil.
