The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard for the funeral Mass. Lector will be Joyce Lauridsen. Gift bearers will be Emily, Elissa, and Jacob Bruggeman. Eucharistic ministers will be Marilyn Foley and Dolora Brincks. Casket bearers will be Danny Golwitzer, David Lohman, Eugene Brincks, Jerry Brincks, Randy Lohman, and Ron Lohman. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 this afternoon. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Legion of Mary, and there will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. by St. Lawrence Parish. Mrs. Meiners was born Nov. 19, 1914, at Willey, a daughter of Herman and Theresia (Von Bon) Brincks. She spent her younger years in the Willey community and attended St. Mary School. On April 13, 1937, she was married to Joseph H. Meiners at St. Mary Church in Willey. The couple farmed in the Westside, Arcadia, Manning, and Lidderdale communities. Mrs. Meiners moved to Carroll in 1960 following the death of her husband. She became a resident of the Carroll Health Center in June 2005. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Parish Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Legion of Mary, a member of and past president of the Flower and Garden Club, and did extensive volunteer work. She served her parish as a member of the senior choir and member of the grievance committee. Mrs. Meiners enjoyed her family and friends, flowers, gardening, genealogy, playing accordion and organ, dancing, and traveling. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Bruggman and her husband, Merle, of Glidden; and Mary Rungee and her husband, Ed of Huber Heights, Ohio; grandchildren, Ron Bruggeman and his wife, Glenda, of Panora, Larry Bruggeman and his wife, Natalie, of Glidden, Joyce Lauridsen and her husband, John, of Boone, and Michelle Bogge and her husband, Jeff, of Xenia, Ohio; 13 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Lohman of Carroll, Loreta Lohman of Carroll, and Sally Golwitzer and her husband, Arnold, of Carroll; sisters-in-law, Flora Brincks of Carroll, Elaine Meiners of Manilla, and Irene Meiners of Manilla; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Meiners was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph H Meiners, in October 1960; and brothers, Lavern and Robert Brincks.
