She had been in poor health for the past years, but previously had been very active in the work of the local Rebekah lodge, having served at one time as the noble grand of the lodge. She was also a member of the Methodist church. Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband, John Larson; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Sanders, Lodi, and Mrs. Alma Newton, Success Valley; two sons, Harley Larson, Tulare, and Wilbur Larson, Visalia and five grandchildren." Porterville Daily Recorder, Porterville, California, September 26, 1945 "Funeral Rites Held Here For Mrs. Rose Larson Funeral services were held yesterday at the Loyd-Brittell Chapel for Mrs. Rose Larson, 65, who passed away Saturday morning at her home in Success Valley. Rev. Clark A. Newton of the First Methodist church officiated, and Mrs. Ardath Dobbs and Mrs. Ruby Glenn, with Mrs. Darroll Findley at the chapel organ, provided the music. The services were well attended and there were many beautiful flowers. The casket bearers were all members of the local Odd Fellows lodge. They were F. J. McDaniel, Frank Dobbs, Fred Wilcox, Jasper Land, John Hickle and Ed Green. Mrs. Larson had ben very active in the Rebekah lodge, having served as noble grand of the local lodge, and the Rebekahs were in charge of the graveside service at the family plot in the Home of Peace cemetery. A native of Indiana, Mrs. Larson had been a resident of this community for 50 years. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are the husband, John Larson; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Sanders, Lodi, and Mrs. Alma Newton, Success Valley; two sons Harley Larson, Tulare, and Wilbur Larson, Visalia; and five grandchildren."
