L. Larson, on the South Tule, from the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Marksbury was a native of Ohio, but came to California 40 years ago. She had lived at her present home for the past 25 years. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, at 2:30, from the Loyd-Frietzche chapel, with interment in the Home of Peace cemetery." Porterville Daily Recorder, Monday, August 5, 1929 "FUNERAL FOR PIONEER Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from the Loyd-Frietzsche chapel for Mrs. Zeralda Marksbury, 86, who passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. G. Larson, in the South Tule section. The Methodist minister from Springville officiated, and interment was in the Home of Peace cemetery. The aged woman was a native of Ohio and came to California 40 years ago. She had been a resident of the South Tule section for the past 25 years. Her husband died about about 14 years ago. Besides the daughter, the deceased is survived by a number of grandchildren."
