She married Lloyd Smith Oct. 19, 1934, at Larned. He died Jan. 24, 1987. She was a homemaker. A lifetime Barton County resident, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith formerly attended First Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend, and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, needlework and gardening. Survivors include a son, Al Gene Smith and wife Pat, Great Bend; a daughter, Nelda Faye Blackwell and husband Dean, Scott City; a sister, Mildred Brauer, La Crosse; a brother, Lester Ideker, La Crosse; six grandchildren, Deana Long and her husband Bruce; David Blackwell and his wife Alicia; Lynette Axtell and her husband Todd; Todd Smith and his wife Theresa; Michele O'Neil; and Charles Jean and his wife Patty; 23 great-grandchildren, Joel, Jonah, and Lydia Long; Krysta, Tessa and Devin Blackwell; Creighton Lahman; Chelsea and Caleigh Doerr; Trevor, Logan, Landen, and Reece O'Neil; Trenton and Tyler Jean; Bianca Mendoza; Alexis Cooper; Austin, Tallen and Aryiah Smith; and Sarah, Robyn, and Rachael Axtell; and one great-great-grandchild, Jair Ordonez. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Ideker and Velmer Ideker; and a sister, Evelyn Blattner. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 at the Bryant Funeral Home with Officiant Pastor Richard Bunn and the Rev. Loyce Clay. Interment will be at the Larned Cemetery.
