Rosemary Jean was born September 19, 1924, at Holdrege, Nebraska, to Arthur William and Lottie Margaret (Speidel) Anderson. After graduating from Holdrege High School in 1942, Rosemary worked at the Prisoner of War camp in Atlanta, Nebraska during World War II, and later attended Weslyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska.
