She was born September 20, 1893, near Roanoke, Virginia, a daughter o0f Mr. and Mr.s Thomas Dillon. At the age of ten, she came with her family to Montana. They settled near Grey Cliff and she attended school at Deer Creek. She was married to William Hughes in 1907 and they ranched in Shank's Basin until his death in January 1925. On June 2, 1925, she was married to Richard Clark in Livingston, Montana. He died in August 1945. Mr.s Carteer was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three daughters, two sons and two husbands, Willian Hughes and Richard Cark. Survivors include two sons, LaVern Clark of Libby, Montana and Raymon Hughes of Warm Springs, Montana; one daughter Lorraine McAdams of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Jess W. Dillon of Belgrade Motnata; sixteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lowry Funeral Home with Rev. Merton Peterson officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ray Esp, Joe Peterson, Gus Kirchner, Jack Halverson, Phillip Elgen and Helar Branae. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. David Roys and selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
