Description	:	Roxan (Emerson) Brown, 68, of Vermillion, SD, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Roxan was born on November 26, 1946 in Vermillion, the daughter of Russell Arden and Lela June (Temple) Emerson. She graduated from Vermillion High School in 1964. She married to Alan Russell Abraham and had a daughter, Kim. He preceded her in death. She then married to Jerald Chamberlain and had two daughters, Krys, and Karen. Read More	Roxan (Emerson) Brown, 68, of Vermillion, SD, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Roxan was born on November 26, 1946 in Vermillion, the daughter of Russell Arden and Lela June (Temple) Emerson. She graduated from Vermillion High School in 1964. She married to Alan Russell Abraham and had a daughter, Kim. He preceded her in death. She then married to Jerald Chamberlain and had two daughters, Krys, and Karen. She married James Albert Brown on February 20, 1987, and the two remained happily married until his passing on October 5, 2010. Roxan held many jobs, including a cook at USD and for the SAE house in Vermillion, where she “adopted” all the boys as her own. Outside of cooking, she also managed the Civic Council in Vermillion. She also was a customer service representative for eTelecare. She was also known for her professional seamstress work. She was proud to be a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, South Dakota ABW and the Red Hat Society. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting dolls, and Santa Clauses. She also loved cooking, canning, and was a master crafter (before Pinterest.) She is survived by her three daughters, Kim Dimmick (Will O’Connor) of Burbank, SD, Krys (Wayne) Enderle of Milford, Iowa, and Karen Johnson of Vermillion; her sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Johnson of Vermillion; Dawn (Dick) Thornton of Harrisburg, SD, and Agnes Emerson of Vermillion; her brother, Jay (Ann) Emerson of Vermillion; her step-daughter, Colinda Brown of Richland, SD; her two step-sons, Brett(Jennifer)Brown and Marty (Coleen) Brown both of NE; 7 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 7 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Brown, her parents, Russell and Lela Emerson, and her grandson, Dustin D. Sundstrom. [Courtesy: Kober Funeral Home]
