Description	:	Rites Held for Lifelong Knox County Resident Funeral services for Roy Morrill, lifelong resident of Knox County, who died Nov. 8 at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island at the age of 74, were conducted last Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Theo Krumrey, pastor officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Roubicek, Harold Kehne, Charles Morsett, Elmer Sedivy, Perry Adams Jr. and Gordon Faith. Creighton business places closed from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Roy Clinton Morrill, son of Moses B. and Maggie A. Morrill, was born Oct 8, 1891, in the Mars community west of Creighton. He lived nearly 50 years on place of his birth and all of his life in Knox County. He married Jessie Ruth Hildreth on June 12, 1918. Six sons were born to them. He served with the Army from June 24, 1918 to June 25, 1919 and spent nine months in France. He was member of the First Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had retired from farming after suffering a stroke in 1956 and lived in Creighton. He was partially disabled. He entered the VA hospital on Aug. 9 for therapy and on Aug. 16 fell and broke his hip. He had been in critical condition following surgery for the injury. Surviving are his wife; five sons, Keith and Robert of Royal, Wendell of Orchard, Dale and Max of Creighton; 15 grandchildren and one brother, Glen Morrill of Orchard.
