Read More	Max Morrill Is Killed In Truck-Pickup Crash Max Morrill, 28, was killed and Robert Borgmann was hospitalized as the result of a pickup-truck accident on Highway 84 east of Bloomfield Thursday night. The accident occurred about half a mile west of Pleasant Valley as Morrill, the driver, and Borgmann were headed west. According to reports, the Morrill pickup and a truck driven by Marvin Becker of St. Helena, crashed in a one-way stretch of the highway. Morrill drove his pickup into the snowbank in an effort to stop. The vehicle swung around and was struck by the oncoming truck, Morrill was thrown from the pickup. Borgmann sustained fractured ribs, bruises, facial cuts and a possible "whip-lash" neck injury. He was still in Lundberg Memorial Hospital as of Tuesday. Funeral services for Morrill were conducted Monday afternoon at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edgar Gershon, pastor, officiating. Music was furnished by the Creighton Knights, of which the deceased had been a member. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, where Masonic rites were conducted. Pallbearers were Harvey Sorensen, Frank Roubicek, Milan Jensen, Harold Kehne, Gene Borgmann and Dean Swim. Mr. Morrill farmed 10 miles west of Creighton and also worked for Creighton Electric. Max Boyd Morrill, son of Mrs. Jessie R. Morrill and the late Roy C. Morrill, was born Oct. 17, 1940, at Orchard. He attended the Mars rural school until 1952, completed his elementary education at the Creighton public school and was graduated from Creighton High School in 1958. He enlisted in the Army in October, 1958 and was discharged in 1961 at Fort Sill, Okla. He married Janet E. Keck Aug. 13, 1961, at the United Methodist Church and they have lived ever since on the farm west of town. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and his church. Survivors include his widow; five children, Roger, Todd, Theresa, Julia and Amy, the oldest being about 6 and 1/2 years old; his mother, four brothers, Keith of Royal, Wendell of Orchard, Dale and Robert of Creighton.
