Description	:	Roy Proctor, 96, of 535 Leighton St., died at 9:44 am Jan. 16, 2011, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. His brother, Glenn, was at his bedside. He was born in Monroe County June 16, 1914, to Wallace and Charlotte Swaim Proctor. Roy was an honest, hard worker, He owned and opoerated Proctor's Auto Parts in Ottumwa, retiring in 1974. Read More	Roy Proctor, 96, of 535 Leighton St., died at 9:44 am Jan. 16, 2011, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. His brother, Glenn, was at his bedside. He was born in Monroe County June 16, 1914, to Wallace and Charlotte Swaim Proctor. Roy was an honest, hard worker, He owned and opoerated Proctor's Auto Parts in Ottumwa, retiring in 1974. He went out of his way to assist anyone who needed his help. He married Edna May Lutz on Dec. 17, 1935, in Malvern. Roy and his wife Edna had 75 happy and productive years together. His health was slowly failing the past few years, but he still maintained his lawn, small repairs around their home and his famous sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna; a son, Edward, and his wife Ginger of Georgia; a grandson, Rob, and his wife Nicole; a granddaughter, Chris, and her husband Mark; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Maxine Moore of Arizona; two brothers, Kenneth of Ottumwa and Glenn and his wife, Jean, of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Esta and William; and an infant sister. Funeral services will be 3 pm Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Maurice Overturf officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 am today with the family present from 5-7 pm. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
