Description	:	Funeral services for Roy Estel Snipes, former resident of the New Hope community, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Grace Methodist church in Elwood and burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Tipton. The body is lying in state at the late home of the deceased, 229 North 5th street, Elwood. The death was a particularly sad one as he was away from home when he became suddenly and critically ill. The body is lying in state at the late home of the deceased, 229 North 5th street, Elwood. The death was a particularly sad one as he was away from home when he became suddenly and critically ill. He was working in the tin mills at Gary and had not been in ill health, but last Thursday he suffered hemorrhages of the lungs while at work and was rushed to the Gary hospital and rapidly became worse. He was given blood transfusions but continued to sink. Death came at 10:30 o'clock Sunday night. Mr. Snipes was born December 2, 1901 in the New Hope community. He was the son of James Edward and Elizabeth (George) Snipes and was the last boy in the family. He was preceded in death by the parents and two brothers, Jesse and Omer. October 27, 1924, he was united in marriage to Gracie Talley, of Elwood, and for some time was employed at the Elwood tin mills. Surviving are the widow and four children, Dollie, James Edward, Dorothy and Carolyn. He is also survived by a sister, Matilda, wife of Gilbert Meeks, of Atlanta, one niece and three nephews.
