Description	:	This community was shocked to learn of the death of Roy Ballain last Saturday afternoon after an illness of onlya few days of influenza followed by pneumonia. He started to St. Louis with his father Friday with a shipment of stock but took ill on the way and returned Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning he consulted the doctor who told him to go home and go to bed, but instead, he kept about his work and did not take to his bed until Wednesday and from that time on, rapidly grew worse, until the time of his death Saturday afternoon.... Funeral services were held on the lawn of the late home Tuesday afternoon at 2 p. m., conducted by, Rev. J. E. Wilkins of the Baptist church of Emerson. Burial was made in the Emerson cemetery The pallbearers were Frank, Charles and Walter Lang, uncles, and Ira and Charles Ballain Jr., and Frank Cardiff, brothers of the deceased. ' Roy Frank Ballain was born September 15, 1890, on the old home place south of Emerson where he died, and had made this vicinity his home since birth, excepting about two years spent in Oklahoma. He was married Nov. 5, 1910, to Miss Margaret Sandeen who with their four children, Alva, Irene, Dorothy, and Dale survive him. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ballain, his sisters, Mrs. Frank Cardiff, Mrs. Ora Douglas and Miss Marcel Ballain and his brothers Ira and Charles. He was a splendid young man and he was a splendid young man and his untimely death is mourned by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, who join us in extending earnest sympathy to the stricken family and relatives.
