Description	:	Roy Leigh, who has been town Marshal here for the past seven years, was found dead on the floor of his home here late Friday afternoon. He had not been on duty for several days because of a cold. His body was discovered by Dr. W. F. Brinkman, the town Mayor, who lived near. According to the Pocahontas County Coroner, Dr. F. F. Howe, Pastor of the Havelock and Ware Methodist Churches, officiated. Masonic rites were in charge of Earl Chambers of Rolfe. Pallbearers were: Jess DeVaul, William Boysen, Roy Woodin, E. L. Lee, Ralph Myers and Edwin Faux. Burial was in Summit Hill Cemetery. Roy G. Leigh was born March 17, 1881 at Ramsey, Illinois. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Leigh, Sr. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of Ramsey. On Nov. 3, 1902, he was united in marriage there with Sadie Gallup and they farmed in Illinois until 1921. That year, they moved to the Ware community. They farmed there and in the Havelock vicinity until 1937. Following the death of his wife, he retired from farming and moved to Pocahontas, Iowa. For the past seven years, he has served as town Marshal. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by one son, Roy Gordon Leigh, Jr., and two granddaughters, Loryl and Nancy Leigh of Havelock and one brother, D. W. Leigh, Jr. of Ramsey, Illinois.
