Taylor Roy Melvin Taylor was born to Charles and Josephine Taylor on November 26, 1884, at Newark, Nebr. and passed away Sunday April 24, 1966, at the Senior Citizens Home, Franklin. He attended schools in the Kearney County vicinity and spent nearly all his life farming in Kearney County. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church , Minden. On April 24, 1912, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Wirth at Grand Island. To this union were born eight children, one having died in infancy. He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1959, his brothers, Lawrence and William, and one sister, Mary. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Linder, Omaha, Mrs. Esther Kennedy, Denver, Colo, Mrs. Eleanor Flesner, Minden, and four sons, Wayne Taylor, Eugene, Ore, and Emery, Harold and Willis Taylor, all of Minden, fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Stacy, Olathe, Colo, and Mrs. Ida Frain, Waterloo, Iowa, and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Layton Funeral Home, Thursday afternoon, April 28, with Rev. Charles Moorer officiating. Interment was in the Minden Cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to our many friends and relatives for their expressed sympathy after the loss of our beloved father and grandfather. Your thoughtfulness in flowers, cards, memorials, and food helped us to bear our recent sorrow. Our thanks, also, to Rev. Moorer and the women of the First Presbyterian Church Circle.
