Son of Remembrance Lindsey Darrah and Susan Smith OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, May 10, 1951 ROZEL J. DARRAH Rozel J., son of R. L. and Susan Darrah, was born in Wayne county, Iowa, November 8, 1875, and was called to rest May 1, 1951, at the age of 75 years, five months and 22 days. On October 26, 1898, he was married to Alice Rash and to this union two daughters were born, Twila Marie and Beulah Louise. Beulah died at the age of 15 months. At the age of 25, Jake was converted under the ministry of the Rev. Mr. Smith and later united with the Eden Baptist church and kept the faith until death. His life was spent farming in Wayne and Lucas counties, until 1944 when his health forced his moving to Derby, where the remainder of his life was spent. Jake leaves to mourn his passing, the devoted wife, the daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Tuttle, one grandson, Curtis, a brother, Elmer, of near Derby; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Nickel of Corydon and Mrs. Mattie Wensel of Des Moines. Also a number of nieces, nephews and many friends. His parents, three brothers, Herman, Will and Rollie preceded him in death. Services, under the direction of the Hutchison Funeral home, were held from the Eden church Wednesday, May 2. The Rev. P. H. Blunt conducted and burial was in the Murray cemetery.
