Mrs. Hipps was born June 8, 1913 in Greenville County, S.C. to the late James Manning Brown and the late Tweetie Smith brown. She was educated in the Greenville County Schools. Read More	Mrs. Ruby Brown Hipps, 94, of 116 Hipps Drive, Simpsonville, S.C., died Monday (June 18, 2007) at her residence. Mrs. Hipps was born June 8, 1913 in Greenville County, S.C. to the late James Manning Brown and the late Tweetie Smith brown. She was educated in the Greenville County Schools. She was formerly employed by Honea Path Shirt Company and a homemaker. A member of New hope Baptist Church and the Mamie Baldwin Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Hipps, a deceased son, James E. Hipps; one great-grandson, Jason Satterfield; brothers, Bud Brown and Russell Brown; and sister, Hazel Mahaffey. Surviving two sons, Henry P. Hipps and wife Johnnie, Robert Freeman Hipps and wife Linda, both of Simpsonville; daughter-in-law, Daphine Hipps of Greenville; sister, Martha Brown of Greer; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Carlos Watson and Rev. Chad Bowen. Mrs Hipps will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial in the Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends at Cannon Funeral Home, Jones Chapel in Simpsonville Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. At other times the family will be at the son's residence, Henry Hipps, 112 Hipps Drive, Simpsonville, SC. The Mamie Baldwin Sunday School Class will be seated in a group at the service. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, c/o The Oasis Senior Club, 509 S. Main Street, Mauldin, S.C.
