She lived here until the spring of 1899 when her parents moved to a farm near Malvern. Here she attended school and graduated from Malvern High School. She attended College and became a teacher and later attended Ames College. For several years she became a homemaker for her mother and brother who were farming near Malvern. On August 21, 1926 she was united in marriage to E. M. Shook of Malvern. The daughter Marilyn Jane was born to this union. They resided near Malvern all her married life, with the exception of the last two years. The last two months she has been in failing health. In September she was taken to the Methodist Hospital in Omaha where she passed away on October 1, 1948. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Marilyn Jane and the seven step children, Erma W. Shapcott, Emerson, Jane Davis, Mariam Hoover, Emerson, Ethel Rogers of Kansas City, Missouri, Max of Loveland Colorado, Wanda T. (Lawrence) White of Tabor and Byron.
