James of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and The Reverend Michael Bingham of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Shives Funeral Home is in charge. Miss Ruby G. Martin died in Hayes, Virginia, on July 28, 2003. Born in Columbia on September 15, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Addie Mae Shull Martin of Columbia. Miss Martin attended Columbia area schools and business college and worked for Edens Food Stores. She retired from V.B. Hook and Company. Miss Martin always had a strong active faith and lived a good Christian life. She grew up a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Dentsville and later joined Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she was one of its oldest members. Miss Martin never married or had children of her own, but she considered all of her many nieces and nephews as her own. She was always so proud of her close loving family and whenever her family got together she always said, "Isn't it great to be together." Miss Martin is survived by sisters, Gladys Driggers, Mable Dominick and a brother, B.F. Martin. She was predeceased by sisters, Alma Neal, Pearl Swindler, Mattie Lindler and Lucile Martin, brothers, Alonzo Owens Martin and Enoch Smith Martin.
