She was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Alpharetta, Ga., to the late Johnie and Orilee Flynn Barnes. Besides the parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Clarke; and two brothers, Gene Barnes and Johnie Barnes. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and an artist and portrait photographer. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. C.L. Dallas George of Greensboro, N.C., and Mary and Tom Hudgins of Kernersville, N.C.; four grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Lingerfelt of Roswell, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Irene Isom, Shirley Stuart, Katherine Hash and Eugenia Head; and one brother-in-law, Geedy Walker. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Galax, with burial in the Rock Creek Cemetery, Independence.
