She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA and was a daughter of the late Willie Smith Parrish and Algie Wells Parrish. She was also predeceased by her husband James Andrew Thompson, Jr., one son James (Jimmy) Thompson III, one brother William Kermit Parrish and one sister Janice Parrish. She is survived by one son Bill Thompson and wife Debbie Thompson of Gretna, one daughter Kathy Puckett and husband Don Haas of Houston, TX, one sister Betty Stump and husband David Stump of Ringgold, VA, one sister-in-law Ann Parrish of Danville, VA, a daughter-in-law, Linda Thompson of Gretna, seven grandchildren Amanda Thompson Hines, James (Andy) Thompson IV, Jason Puckett, Jessica Puckett Anderson, William Lee Thompson, Jr., Adam Thompson and Wade Quarles and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted at the Carl O Moran Memorial Garden by Reverend Shelton Miles. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home in Gretna assisted the family.
