Description	:	Russell Dean GoBell, 81, of Burbank, SD, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Unity Point Health – St. Luke’s in Sioux City surrounded by his family at his side. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with a scripture service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with Fr. Clay County Post #3061 Russell was born on April 8, 1934 in Vermillion, South Dakota, the son of Harold Ralph and Sarah Alice (Brown) GoBell. He enlisted in U.S. Army on September 1, 1950 at the age of 16, serving his country. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. When he was discharged from the military on July 1, 1952, he went on to Springfield College to become a carpenter. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Seney on June 1, 1953 in Vermillion, SD. To this union, Rodney, Michael, Deb, Danny, Kevin and Brenda were born. He worked in Des Moines building cabinets, and went to university as a head carpenter. He spent many years working as a maintenance/janitor at the post office until he retired at the young age of 48. Russell was an expert carpenter. He loved building houses. Betty Jean preceded him in death on May 12, 2000. Also in his spare time, Russell enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He had a knack for canning pickles. Most of all, our half-brother, MO (his dog). He is survived by his six children, Rodney (Jennifer Mincks) GoBell, Michael (Mary) GoBell, both of Burbank, SD; Deb (Lloyd Morterud) GoBell of Rapid City, SD; Danny (Deb Maese) GoBell of Litchfield, AZ; Kevin GoBell of Burbank, SD; and Brenda (Rusty) Vifquain of Piedmont, SD; ten grandchildren, and thirty great-grandchildren; his special friend, Gwen Mount of Burbank, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean; his parents, Harold and Sarah GoBell; and his brother, Kenneth GoBell. The Kober Funeral Home of Vermillion has been entrusted with the services.
