Russell Dean Ring was born on August 3, 1960 at Osage, Iowa, the son of Wilford and Ilene (Roe) Ring. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville. He attended all his school years at the Riceville Community School and would have graduated with the Class of 1979. He was active in sports and was on the all-state conference football team. He was a qualifier in the State Wrestling tournament during his junior and senior years, placing 3rd in his junior year and 4th in his senior year. Survivors include his parents; four brothers: Ricky, David, Daniel and Robby, and one sister, Deanna, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ring, Riceville; Mrs. Inez Roe, McIntire; Mrs. Mary Iverson, Monrovia, Calif.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
